Humble beginnings: John Crowfoot using a horse and cart begin our transport business by offering local village services as well as transport for the local shoe trade in and around Leicestershire. |
Take off with the Third Generation: Dennis Crowfoot left the RAF to join the family firm, and supported by his wife, the company soon started to increase its fleet size and depot facilities. |
Fourth Generation: 70’s: With his sons joining the Group, Crowfoots continued to grow with new depots in Shepshed and Derby. 80’s: Further geographic expansion into the North West saw the opening of the Manchester depot and following ongoing success its movement to larger premises in 1991 at Stalybridge (East Manchester). 90’s: Saw the ongoing amalgamation of the depot network including a new purpose built depot in Derby. 00’s: The millennium onwards saw continual expansion of the 5 acre Barwell, Leicester Head Office site with increases to the warehouse facilities to over 100,000 square feet. New larger traffic offices and facilities have also been created at Stalybridge (Manchester depot) and Leicester to keep ensuring our ongoing improvement to the service we provide to our customers. |
Investment in the future: With the Fifth generation of the Crowfoot family joining the business, the founding values instilled by the previous generations are sure to continue well into this century. |
