For hazardous goods which are in limited quantity i.e. below or equal to the stated figures in ADR 3.4.6, the following additional requirements are needed:
That the goods are clearly labelled with a diamond-shaped UN label that measures at least 100mm x 100mm (see ADR 3.4.4.(c) for further detail). It is permitted to use a smaller sized UN label if the package is too small to fit the above label on. However, the UN number or numbers must be clearly visible. The consignment ticket is endorsed ‘Limited quantity’ or ‘LQ’.
In general there are no further requirements, such as the need for additional labelling and documentation with the exception to offshore destinations where a dangerous goods note will need to be completed.
Warning:- If incorrectly labelled or unnecessary documentation (such as a dangerous good note) is provided for a limited quantity consignment then there maybe an ADR supplement applied.
Warning:- To comply Limited quantity deliveries have to be boxed
Limited quantity can be delivered to all zones (parcels & pallets)
Warning:- Offshore deliveries including Ireland, Isle of Wight and Isle of Man will be treated as ADR and attract the additional supplement. They will also need a dangerous goods note to complete delivery. |
